Urban Farm and Garden Training

About the Program

A 7-month urban farmer-gardener training program. This program covers a range of subjects, helping growers become more well rounded and experienced. Under the umbrella of food, land and environmental justice, the program explores, grows and challenges the practice of urban farming and horticulture.Topics such as pruning, propagation, vegetable & flower growing, herbaceous perennials, greenhouse management, integrated pest management and more are covered. If you're looking to expand your growing capabilities or pursue a career in urban farming/horticulture then this is the program for you.

Who should apply

Participants must be:
1. 18 years and above.
2. Refugees, asylees, asylum seekers, members of a community garden.  

3. BIPOC gardeners & growers. 

4. Should have an interest in urban farming/gardening and pursuing a job in the green industry.
5. Willing and able to work outside, in a group setting, in all types of weather and around insects.
6. Enjoy working with plants and people.
7. Committed to attending class dates listed below.
